New gypsum paper recycling technology developed by GRI
At the recently held Global Gypsum Conference 2014 more than 300 representatives from the global gypsum industry travelled to Berlin to take part in the conference.
Henrik Lund-Nielsen, CEO of GRI, made a presentation about the gypsum paper recycling technology developed by GRI, and co-funded by the Eco-innovation Initiative of the European Union.
The technology secures that the paper residual, arising when recycling gypsum plasterboard waste, can be recycled. By combining the new gypsum paper recycling technology with GRI’s existing gypsum waste recycling technology all the resources found in gypsum plasterboard waste can be reused. Thus, from 100% plasterboard waste, 95% recycled gypsum and 5% recycled paper can be made.
Henrik Lund-Nielsen explained, that GRI is both selling the technology as well as offering it as a rented in service where a fee per ton processed is paid. As the paper recycling technology is mounted on a trailer it is mobile, and can easily be relocated to the place where the gypsum paper is generated.
